Liudong Xing received the B.E. degree in computer science (with top #1 GPA) from Zhengzhou University, China in 1996, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Virginia in 2000 and 2002, respectively. She has been with the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth since 2002, where she has become a full professor since 2013. Prof. Xing's research focuses on reliability and resilience modeling, analysis, and optimization of complex systems and networks (e.g., wireless sensor networks, Internet of Things, blockchain-based systems). She has published two books titled "Binary Decision Diagrams and Extensions for System Reliability Analysis" and "Dynamic System Reliability: Modeling and Analysis of Dynamic and Dependent Behaviors". She has recently published two review articles "Reliability in Internet of Things: Current Status and Future Perspectives" and "Cascading Failures in Internet of Things: Review and Perspectives on Reliability and Resilience". Prof. Xing was the recipient of the Leo M. Sullivan Teacher of the Year Award in 2014, the Scholar of the Year Award in 2010, and the Outstanding Women Award in 2011 of UMass Dartmouth. She was the recipient of the 2018 IEEE Region 1 Outstanding Teaching in an IEEE Area of Interest (University or College) Award, the 2015 ChangJiang Scholar award, and the 2007 IEEE Region 1 Technological Innovation (Academic) Award. She was also co-recipient of the Best Paper Award or Best Student Paper Award at several international conferences and journals. Prof. Xing has served as an Associate Editor or Editorial Board member of multiple journals, including for example Reliability Engineering & System Safety, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, and International Journal of Systems Science. She has served as program committee chair/co-chair/vice-chair and publications chair/co-chair for several different international conferences, and technical program committee member for numerous international workshops and conferences. She is a fellow of The International Society of Engineering Asset Management (since 2019) and a senior member of IEEE (since 2007). View all posts by Liudong
